Arbutus Management Consulting was founded on a simple observation: most small and mid-sized Canadian businesses are making critical financial decisions with incomplete information, inadequate systems, and without the guidance of a seasoned financial executive.
Our founders spent years working inside companies — as controllers, CFOs, and finance directors — watching growing businesses struggle with cash flow blind spots, poor forecasting, and disconnected accounting systems. The solution wasn’t to build another traditional accounting firm. Patrick is a seasoned corporate finance leader and strategist with over 15 years of experience guiding companies through complex scaling transitions. As the President of Arbutus Management Consulting, he serves as a Fractional CFO and strategic advisor to Canadian SMEs, specializing in project-based sectors including engineering, oil & gas, construction, manufacturing, and technology.
He specializes in diagnosing “silent profit leaks,” restructuring cost categories, and implementing high-impact financial frameworks (such as 13-week cash flow mapping and automated KPI dashboards) that actively unlock trapped working capital. Patrick holds an MBA and is passionate about helping founders move from day-to-day firefighting to confident, long-term forward planning.
